Advocacy

Make your voice heard!

In 2013, following a survey of service users, Warwickshire Vision Support decided to develop its advocacy service so that it could better reflect the opinions of visually impaired people across the county.

We now have three local advocacy groups (Nuneaton, Rugby and Stratford) with a further two planned (Leamington and Coventry).

The advocacy groups adopt and develop their own campaigns according to their own priorities. This may be the local application of a national campaign or the development of a local campaign to meet a specific local need.

The groups also to gather useful information about local services provided by Councils and Clinical Commissioning Groups, together with services and information delivered by other voluntary sector organisations.

Do you feel that the views of visually impaired people are under-represented?

Do you have an opinion about local services?

Are you frustrated about your right of way being blocked by street furniture?

If the answer is YES, why not join your local advocacy group and make your voice heard?

There are a host of issues that impact on the lives of visually impaired people in Warwickshire. By sharing ideas and working together, you too can make a difference.
