Hospital Advice and Information Service

Help Desk at Warwick Hospital

The Hospital Advice and Information Service operates in the Eye Clinics in Warwick and Stratford Hospitals.  The service is designed to provide you with support at the point of diagnosis.  We will explain the Rehabilitation and Registration process, introduce you to our information and advice services as well as the range of social support activities available to you.

Our team provide advice about services available through Warwickshire Vision Support as well as signposting services provided by other organisations.  We can familiarise you with a comprehensive range of visual aids, let you know about your local Vision Support Centre or introduce you to your local VIP Club.

We will also let you know what happens next if you are referred to Warwickshire Vision Support for a rehabilitation assessment and what are the benefits of joining the Register of Blind and Partially Sighted People. 

Of most importance, we will ensure that you have our contact details so that you can contact us at a later date with any questions.  We understand that this is a difficult time and that you have a great deal of information to take in all at once.  We want you to know that we are here to help and support you as you adjust to living with sight loss

The Information Desk is manned during the low vision clinics when there is the greatest number of people likely to need support and advice.  Currently, this is every Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. 

During the rest of the week, we have a small display of specialist equipment and an assortment of leaflets for you to take away.

It is our hope to expand this service across the other eye clinics in Warwickshire as and when the demand arises.
