My Guide – Volunteers needed
A new service for Visually Impaired People in your local area
My Guide is a joint project between Warwickshire Association for the Blind and Guide Dogs Association which aims to reduce isolation of Visually Impaired People living in your local community.
We are looking for Volunteers who are happy to train to become a Sighted Guide for a Visually Impaired Person in order to enable individuals to get out into their local community.
My Guide will enable you to accompany a Visually Impaired Person to access various services/activities they have previously been unable to.
This could involve a visit to their local Drop In Centre or a visit to the hairdressers, a trip into town to purchase a special gift or Christmas shopping, a short walk for a bit of gentle exercise.
If you are going to a Leisure Centre perhaps you could offer transport to someone. The possibilities are endless!
You could make a real difference to a Visually Impaired Person’s Independence by giving a few extra hours of your precious time.
If you would like further information on becoming a My Guide Volunteer or if you know someone who would be interested in helping, please contact
Sue Morris or Elaine Ball on 01926 411331.
