The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Eye Health and Visual Impairment

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Eye Health and Visual Impairment is gathering evidence for the Inquiry as follows:

  • Stage 1: a review of relevant published UK and international evidence

  • Stage 2: this Call for Evidence supplemented by meetings and interviews with stakeholders to help ensure we gather comprehensive evidence

  • Stage 3: Oral Evidence sessions.

The APPG Inquiry survey for patients is for people who have received treatment within the last three years (not including the routine provision of glasses or contact lenses) to hear about their experiences of eye care services in England (both positive and negative experiences). Have your say and complete the patient survey

The patient survey will close on 20 October 2017.

For other areas of health policy we will seek to interview respondents on three-to-four areas that have been identified as priorities in the NHS Mandate and ‘Five Year Forward View’.

With the exception of patients, the deadline for giving written evidence is 29 September 2017.

Please note the Inquiry will publish submissions from persons and organisations as part of the evidence it receives, unless you specifically request us not to. Where a person or organisation has stated that they want their written evidence to be anonymous, it will be published under the title anonymous.

Oral evidence

The APPG is planning to hold oral sessions in Parliament in October 2017. Please indicate in your written response to this Call for Evidence whether you or a representative is willing to give oral evidence to the Inquiry.

The timeline for the Inquiry is as follows:

  • 28 July 2017 - Inquiry opens
  • 29 September 2017 -   Deadline for written evidence
  • 20 October 2017 - Deadline for patient survey
  • October 2017 - Oral evidence sessions
  • January 2018 - Publish report
