'Your Futures Fair' - the careers fair for young people with a vision impairment

Venue: Royal National College for the Blind (RNC)

Date: 11/03/2015

Royal National College for the Blind's 'Your futures fair' will be held in Hereford on 11th March. The event is suitable for anyone from the age of 12 with a visual impairment who is looking at further education, higher education, employment or self-employment. Friends,family and professionals who work with these young people are also welcome.

There will be workshops, speakers and a range of stands from relevant organisations, including Careers Wales.

LOCSU: New Sutton eye test scheme offers life-changing benefits to people with learning disabilities

A new eye screening service launched in Sutton and Surrey will help improve the quality of life for people with learning disabilities.

Under the service, people with learning disabilities will be offered longer, adapted tests to assess problems with their vision and the chance for pre-test familiarisation visits.
The scheme is championed nationally by the Local Optical Committee Support Unity (LOCSU) and leading sight loss charity SeeAbility. They have jointly devised a national model – the Community Eye Care Pathway for Adults and Young People with Learning Disabilities.

Unlimited Arts Fund for Disabled Artists

Disabled artists and arts organisations with a strong track record in their field can apply for funding from Unlimited to create and present new work, across all art forms.
