Below is a brief summary of the meeting:
- Tracy Ashby from Wright Hassall Solicitors talked to us about the importance of having a valid Will and also Power of Attorneys. Tracy also discussed Inheritance Tax and gifts and how any gifts whether cash or property are taken into consideration when calculating the value of your estate for up to 7 seven years. - Introduction to the CEA and Access/Credibility Card – the CEA Card is a card scheme developed by the Cinema Association and entitles the holder to a complimentary ticket for an accompanying carer. The Access/Credibility Card confirms your disability status and acts in the same way as the CEA Card in so far as your accompanying carer can access a free ticket to many events and activities. - Reminder – if you are due an optician’s appointment or feel that your eyesight has deteriorated, then do not delay making an appointment. Opticians are working and eye clinics are open. If you have an appointment with an eye clinic and need regular injections for your eyes, then try to avoid missing these. Speak to your doctor or phone your Ophthalmic Consultant if you have any concerns.
